BASKETBALL CAMP
A basketball
camp is being sponsored by FUMC is for rising 3rd
graders through rising 8th graders from
Monday August 4, 2008 through Wednesday August 6,
2008. The hours for the camp are from 9:00
a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and from 9:00
a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. For details

return the completed form to the church office.
FALL SOCCER TEAMS
Registration
for Fall Soccer has begun. We are looking for boys
& girls ages 3 to 16. The cost is $45.00
which includes entry fee, jersey, trophy & family
banquet. Registrations forms are available at
the church or they can be downloaded by
clicking here. We need coaches for the
different age groups. Practices will be held at
Sherwood Elementary School and practice times will
be decided by the coaches. Games will begin the
week after Labor Day.

PURPOSE
Our Family Life Center Ministries provide new
opportunities to reach out and to develop our
members and our community for Jesus Christ.
These ministries provide an opportunity to share
the good news of Christ and to work through our
members in winning persons for Christ;
to help bring people a personal relationship with our Lord
Jesus;
to discover and develop satisfying skills in our fellowship; to
provide activities which allow lifetime
participation;
to strengthen family life so that Christian values and teachings will
become part of our everyday actions;
to help the unchurched see the inner sphere of
church life; and to teach God's children to play!

FACILITIES
Our Family Life Center facilities include an
exercise room, nurseries, gymnasium, game room,
craft room, two fellowship halls, a full size
professional kitchen and a TV room.

AVAILABILITY
Meeting rooms and meals are
available for use by various organizations
and groups throughout our community. This
is an important outreach of our downtown
church. For information about meals for

OPPORTUNITIES (Space is Open for Members and Guests)
The Exercise Room equipment includes a Universal Weight Machine; Treadmill; Stairmaster; Stationary Bike;
and Free Weights. For your safety, it is requested
that you receive instruction from the Family Life Center Director regarding the use of the equipment.
The Gameroom has a ping pong table, air
hockey, billiards table and foosball table.

ATHLETICS
Organized athletic programs and teams are
available for many sports in age groups beginning
at age 5 through adult. Many special
activities and tournaments are scheduled each
year.
The purpose
of the athletic programs of First United
Methodist Church is to teach wholesome
attitudes, habits and interests. Athletics
not only develop these traits, but are
also able to provide a positive and healthy
outlet for adults, youth and children. Our
programs serve as an outreach to the community. A
part of the original philosophy of The
Family Life Center was to provide new opportunities
to reach and develop our members and our
community for the Lord Jesus. It
is very important to minister not only
to our congregation but to our community
as well.
