Sunday
Morning | Communion | Healing Services | Baptism | New Members
We
believe that worship is a place and a space where
we come together as individuals to share in experiencing
God. In our 8:45 and 10:55 Sunday morning worship
services we apply a “blended worship” concept. This
means that we take traditional elements of worship
and music and combine them with a contemporary style.
The
use of drama and visuals are
often a part of our worship experiences. Our “Contemporary
Choir” also sings on a rotating basis in our Sunday
morning services.
The basic theme of what we try to do in worship is to help
the time tested tradition “breathe” life into issues and
challenges that are faced everyday.

Communion
is celebrated at least every other month in the Sanctuary
and occasionally in our chapel.

Healing Services
Healing services have
been brought back through our United Methodist Book of Worship liturgies for
healing. This is something that had been neglected
due to fear and misunderstandings about healing in the church. Every
quarter we have brief healing services in our chapel after each worship service.

In
the United Methodist tradition we baptism people
of all ages. This includes the sacrament of
infant baptism. Confirmation age in our church
is 6th grade. Our young people are
in confirmation class for an entire year. Those
who have not been baptized receive this sacrament
on the second Sunday in May when the Confirmation
Class received into church membership. Adult
baptisms are performed upon request in our worship
services. Our usual style of baptism is often
referred to as “sprinkling,” which means
the person kneels and a small amount of water is
placed upon the head with the sacramental words being
spoken.

We
conduct orientation classes every other month for
those persons interested in joining our church. These
classes are held in our church parlor from 8:45-9:45. Persons
interested in these classes should contact our
Minister of Membership and Evangelism,
Angela Burris.
For more information concerning our worship and the celebration
of the sacraments, contact our church office at (704) 864-4371.
